Sharon Prince, Ending Human Trafficking Through Philanthropy

 

Sharon Prince is a well-known human rights and justice crusader. She doubles up as the chair and president of Grace Farms Foundation, a privately owned human rights crusader. Grace Farms Foundation engages with the community and other organizations to champion the justice and well-being of all human beings across the world.

Since 2009, Sharon Prince has used the Grace Farms Foundation to bring an end to child abuse and exploitation, forced labor, and violence against women among other vices on a global scale. She has partnered with major players like the United Nations University to take the war to all corners of the world.

In 2016, a partnership between Sharon Prince Grace Farms and the United Nations University culminated into the Fighting Human Trafficking in Conflict convention, which resulted in the publication of a report to the United Nations Security Council. Additionally, the foundation has also partnered with other like-minded organizations and governments in a global initiative by the title Unchain. The global media campaign is aimed at ending modern-day slavery in contemporary society.

Through Unchain, Sharon Prince has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Georgian authorities. The intention is to end contemporary slavery by establishing legally recognized standards in the supply chain. While many people think that slavery is something that doesn’t exist anymore, it happens in many countries around the world including the United States to this day. This is why Sharon Prince Grace Farms is working closely with the organization Unchain as well as the country Georgia to fight against human trafficking that is still taking place.

While contemporary slavery is largely unrecognized, according to studies and Sharon Prince, it’s one of the largest problems that the world is currently facing.
