Alex Pall & The Chainsmokers Ramp Up Intimacy In New Single

Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart are collectively known as The Chainsmokers and for the better part of the past five years, they’ve controlled the airwaves. With an almost mechanical consistency, The Chainsmokers have released singles that have routinely dominated the charts and the radio waves, gaining critical and commercial acclaim in equal measure. After a prolific start to their careers, Pall and Taggart are looking to take a step back in order to re-evaluate how they approach their music while amplifying the intimacy of their new tracks. Pall and Taggart have made the decision to make their new titles more intimate than ever, giving a real look into the minds of the famous EDM/Pop duo. Their newest single, Don’t Let Me Down’, features Taggart himself on the lead vocals — a first for the band.

Pall and Taggart aren’t discarding all of the hard work that went into making them one of the biggest pop groups in the world, but the EDM duo has shown the willingness to take what is working while discarding what is not. The two were linked together after a mutual friend put them in communication. Before pairing up to form The Chainsmokers, they were just two DJs looking to make dance music. After being connected, it was made evident from the get-go that they shared a mutual interest and work ethic that would soon help to craft them into global superstars.

After coming together in New York City, The Chainsmokers are looking to turn their next record into a real event. Pall refers to the new record, headlined by ‘Don’t Let Me Down’, as a new era in the lifespan of The Chainsmokers. With so much success in their past, this new era seems like it is only being set up to become more successful. Pall and Taggart are already back to touring at a ridiculous pace and they readily admit that it impacts the way that they write their music. Pall and Taggart have become focused on making their newest record more timeless, pushing away from some of the ‘topics of the moment’.
